Snakestaff Systems ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2

Wider Band. Same Game-Changing Design.

A Compact Tourniquet for Those Who Prefer a Wider Profile

The ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 offers the same compact footprint, speed, and durability as the standard ETQ™—with a 1.5-inch wide band for users who prefer a wider tourniquet. Designed with real-world input from professionals in the field, the WIDE version maintains all the performance and innovations of the Gen 2 series, now in a broader format.

If you value the feel and fit of a wider band—but still want true EDC compatibility—this is the tourniquet you’ve been waiting for.

What’s New in Gen 2

  • Power Curve Technology – Curved slot helps distribute pressure more evenly than traditional designs.

  • Tri-Grip Windlass – Flat-sided for confident grip, improved control, and strong mechanical leverage.

  • Windlass Ring – Reinforced ring reduces resistance and allows faster tightening when seconds matter.

  • Improved Body & Strap Routing – Keeps the TQ aligned, even if the strap isn’t fully tightened before application.

  • Larger Carabiner Opening – Makes windlass stowage quicker and smoother post-application.

  • Webbing-Backed Hook & Loop – Prevents folding, sticking, or misfeeds during high-stress use.

  • On-TQ Instructions + QR Code – Step-by-step guide printed on the tourniquet, plus scannable video tutorial.

  • Dedicated Blue Trainer Available – Practice confidently without risking your live gear.

Note: The chemlight from Gen 1 was removed to prevent accidental activation in transit and daily carry.

Key Features

  • 1.5" Band Width – For users who prefer a wider feel and increased surface area

  • Same Compact Form Factor – Despite the wider band, this version still fits in mag pouches, pockets, and EDC setups

  • Total Length: 37.5"

  • Materials: Mil-Spec 4088 Webbing + UV-Stable Polymers

  • Non-Absorbent & Weather-Resistant – Ideal for maritime, rain, and rugged conditions

  • Versatile Fit – Secures limbs down to 1" (adult, pediatric, and K9 applications)

Built to Exceed the Standard

While the CoTCCC has not evaluated new tourniquets since 2019, the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 was built to meet and exceed all prior TCCC standards and aligns with Department of Defense working group requirements. It’s field-proven, mission-ready, and built to perform.

Who Should Carry the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2?

First Responders, Tactical Medics & Military Personnel

Commonly Asked Questions

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST BEFORE EMAILING US!

Is the ETQ wide enough?

If you cut open the most widely used TQ by LE and Militaries around the world you’ll find that it’s only a 1” wide piece of inner webbing that’s doing the constricting. The outer 1.5” sleeve does not constrict. Don’t believe us, try tightening one of those on a foam roller next to the ETQ™ for 30 min. You’ll see they leave the same imprint. 1” wide.

1” has been good enough to stop the bleed for years. If you want a wider TQ, take a look out our ETQ Wide™

What kind of testing was performed?

The ETQ™ and ETQ Wide™ have been proven to cut off blood flow using doppler and ultrasound at a level 5 trauma unit. We went through extensive testing of its durability and windlass strength in extreme weather conditions. Watch the Torture Test Here.

Does the ETQ™ and ETQ Wide™ work on children and K9’s?

We kept small diameter limbs in mind during the design process. It can constrict down to 1” diameter, which is significantly smaller than other TQ’s, making it a great option for children and dogs.

Is the ETQ CoTCCC recommended?

Contrary to popular belief, manufacturers cannot submit tourniquets to the Committee of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) for review whenever they want. Instead, CoTCCC organizes review sessions at their choosing. CoTCCC has only done two TQ reviews in the last 20 years, the most recent of which was in 2019.

Therefore, the ETQ and ETQ Wide have not yet been reviewed by the CoTCCC.

We’ve been in regular contact with CoTCCC members however, there is no indication that another TQ review is happening any time soon. In fact, there are indications that CoTCCC will no longer be doing TQ reviews at all.

In lieu of this we’re currently working with several universities to conduct independent, published, clinical trials on our ETQs however none of them have concluded at the moment.

We’ve also done numerous color doppler ultrasound tests, some of which are posted on the “Videos” tab on our website.

We will continue to pursue independent, third-party testing and publish the data as it becomes available, so customers can make their own informed decisions.

Will you offer different colors?

Not at this time but in the future we will have other color options to be used for trainers.

Warranty:

While tourniquets are inherently a one-time use item we stand behind our product. ETQ’s come with a lifetime warranty covering any manufacturing defects. This does not include repeated use as a trainer. Contact us for warranty and returns.

ETQ™ Emergency Instructions

ETQ Ultrasound Test

In this example, the ETQ™ stops blood flow after two turns, however you should twist the windlass as many times as possible in a real situation.

Introducing the Everyday Carry Tourniuqet. ETQ™

The patent pending ETQ™ is compact, yet effective, making it easy to have on hand. Think of our ETQ™ as the SIG 365® of TQ’s: Both are small and designed for carry and concealment.
