Med pouches are the on-body medical kit — designed to ride on a belt, plate carrier, pack strap, or vehicle headrest for fast deployment when bleeding control time is measured in seconds, not minutes.

IFAK vs. trauma pouch vs. boo-boo kit

An IFAK (Individual First Aid Kit) is the standard load-bearing trauma pouch: tourniquet, hemostatic gauze, pressure dressing, chest seal, NPA. A boo-boo kit handles small cuts and blisters. A full trauma pouch may carry both layers — plus extras like trauma shears and surgical gloves.

Mount it where you can find it

Reach-test your pouch position before you trust it. On a plate carrier, front-mount for visibility but check it doesn't conflict with mag pouches. On a belt, position for support-side reach so the dominant hand stays free. Train deploying the contents one-handed, blind, under stress.
