MRE's — Ready-To-Eat Meals for Field and Emergency

Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) are the gold standard of field food — fully prepared, shelf-stable, no cooking required. SRO carries chef-developed MREs from Essential Provisions, military-grade ration kits, and the freeze-dried equivalents for ultralight kits.

MRE vs. freeze-dried

MREs are heavier but require no water or heat. Freeze-dried meals are lighter but need water and ideally heat. Both have a place — MREs for vehicle kits and emergency stockpiles, freeze-dried for backpacking and ultralight scenarios.
