Bleeding Control — Tourniquets, Hemostatic Agents, and Chest Seals
Major hemorrhage is the leading preventable cause of trauma death. SRO's Bleeding Control collection brings together the trauma tools that actually save lives — tourniquets, hemostatic dressings, chest seals, and the IFAKs that organize them for fast access when seconds matter.
The four bleeding-control essentials
Build around: a Combat Application Tourniquet (CAT) from North American Rescue (Official U.S. Army Tourniquet since 2005), an ETQ everyday-carry tourniquet from Snakestaff Systems (65% smaller, FDA-registered), HyFin vented chest seals for penetrating chest trauma, and hemostatic gauze for wound packing. See All First Aid for the broader medical lineup.
Real-world deployment
Bleeding control gear is only useful if it's accessible. IFAK pouches keep the kit single-handed reachable from belt or pack. Carry training matters — taking a Stop-the-Bleed course doubles the value of the gear.
Pair with Mission Tools (StatGear T3, Snakestaff ETQ), IFAK Pouches, and Survival Tools.
If you don't carry a tourniquet today, start with one CAT and one HyFin vented chest seal. Those two items cover the highest-mortality preventable injuries — even outside combat zones.
