STEP 22 Gear - Interview with Adam Wood, Owner

STEP 22 makes bold claims about their bags…do they live up to the hype?  We think so.  Watch our full interview with owner Adam Wood and hear him lay...

Does ‪@step22gear‬ make the toughest gear bags around? Watch our product overview and interview with Adam Wood, one of the owners and founders of STEP 22. Adam took time out of a very busy day at Overland Expo Pacific Northwest to talk about what sets their products apart from the competition, what inspires the design processes and gives a detailed breakdown of some of their most popular bags.

As some of you may know, I have been in law enforcement for many years and during my time I have gone through an array of equipment from a multitude of manufacturers. Whether it was a patrol gear bag, duty belt pouch or a backpack for personal gear, everything was subject to the constant abuse of sliding around in a truck, being tossed in and out of a locker, dropped on concrete, the list goes on. After experiencing failure after failure of bags or pouches, I learned to recognize what made for a quality piece of equipment. From stitching to zippers, materials to layouts I learned what worked and what didn't.

When I first laid eyes on STEP 22's gear at their booth, I immediately recognized quality. The thoughtfulness in design, the use of Cordura nylon, the zippers, everything told me these were built with intent. After hearing Adam explain his approach to gear design I walked away not only completely impressed, but with one of his Pangolin Tool Rolls in hand. Later, when talking to the guys at 74Weld I learned they too bought several Pangolins. Stay tuned for a future review of this bomb-proof tool roll.

After watching this video, I think you'll feel the same way I did. You can find the products from this video and so much more on their website!
