Tinder & Candles — The Combustible Layer

Tinder catches sparks; candles extend small flames. Both are critical for getting and keeping fire started. SRO's Tinder & Candles collection covers wax-soaked cotton, sawdust-and-wax plugs, char cloth, fatwood, and the candle lanterns that turn a flame into sustained light.

Tinder formats

Wax-cotton balls (compact, light, multi-condition). Three Rivers Firestarters Fire Plugs (cotton + lighter fluid + wax + sawdust). Grim Workshop Baddest Bee fuses. Candles as fire extenders

Once you have flame, a small candle (UCO candle lantern format) extends the fire-starting opportunity and provides hours of sustained light. Pair with Camp Lighting.

Minimum tinder kit: one pack of wax-cotton balls or Fire Plugs (~20 pieces) in every kit. Covers backup fire-starting for weeks if your primary ignition fails.
