Sleeping Gear — Sleep Systems That Actually Restore
Sleep is the operational reset that makes multi-day trips sustainable. SRO's Sleeping Gear collection covers mattresses, sleeping bags, quilts, pillows, and the bedding that turns a cold night into a recoverable one.
Build a sleep system, not just a bag
Complete sleep systems stack a sleeping pad (insulation from ground), a sleeping bag or quilt (warmth retention), and a pillow (alignment and comfort). HEST mattresses cover the camping comfort end. ALPS Mountaineering, Featherstone, and brand-name down quilts handle the bag side. See Shelter & Comfort for related camp comfort gear.
Temperature ratings matter
Bag temperature ratings have caveats — most ratings reflect survival, not comfort. For comfortable sleep, choose a bag rated 10°F lower than the coldest temperature you'll encounter. Pair with appropriate pads (R-value 4+ for cold-weather use) for full insulation.
Pair with Shelter & Sleep, Cold Weather, and Fall & Winter Gear.
If you've never invested in a real sleep system, do it before any other gear upgrade. Better sleep compounds every other piece of equipment in your kit.
