Optimus Camp Stoves & Cooking Systems
Optimus has been making backcountry stoves in Sweden since 1899 — over a century of refining canister and multi-fuel cooking systems for backpackers, mountaineers, and overlanders who need reliable heat at camp.
Canister vs. multi-fuel
Canister stoves (using sealed isobutane/propane cartridges) are lightweight, instant-light, and clean — best for general backpacking and warmer temperatures. Multi-fuel stoves run on white gas, kerosene, gasoline, and diesel — heavier and dirtier, but functional in extreme cold and on expedition trips where fuel availability matters.
Optimus lineup highlights
- Crux and Crux Lite: ultralight canister stoves for fast trips
- Vega and Polaris: 4-season canister stoves for cold weather
- Nova and Polaris Optifuel: multi-fuel for expedition use
- Cookware integration with Terra and Vesta pots
Build the full cooking system
A stove is one piece of a camp kitchen. Pair with Cookware & Dinnerware for pots and pans, Small Stove Fuel for canister supplies, and Camp Kitchen for the broader category.
Boil. Cook. Eat. Built to last across decades.
