About Flashlights

Flashlights — Tactical, EDC, and Headlamp Lighting

Light is the resource you take for granted until it's gone. Flashlights, headlamps, and area lights cover everything from EDC pocket carry to tactical search-and-rescue to long-throw signaling. SRO carries the major light brands across every category.

Four lighting categories

Match the light to the use case. Pocket EDC (sub-200 lumens, all-day battery, Maratac and Fenix). High-output tactical (1500-2800 lumens, Fenix TK20R, Streamlight ProTac). Search-and-rescue throwers (1000+ meter beam distances, Fenix TK30R white-laser). Headlamps for hands-free work (Fenix HM and HL series, Nitecore). See the broader Lighting & Power collection for portable power that keeps them charged.

Rechargeable vs. battery

USB-C rechargeable batteries dominate modern lights — Fenix, Acebeam, and Nitecore all carry rechargeable variants. For long-term storage and emergency kits, CR123 and AA lights still have a place because the batteries don't degrade in storage the way lithium does. Carry both formats if your use case demands it.

Pair with the broader kit

Lights pair with survival kits (signaling and shelter work), everyday carry (pocket light is one of the four EDC pillars), and portable power (Jackery, NESTOUT) for recharge during outages.

Holy trinity for any kit: one EDC pocket light, one headlamp, and one high-output tactical flashlight. Those three cover ninety percent of realistic lighting needs.
