Patriot Campers X3 Webasto Heater Leak

While we love our Patriot Campers Gen 1 X3, like any product out there it is not perfect. It’s a factory produced piece of equipment, touched by human hands, and that means there is always a chance something wasn’t perfect.

Our trailer came equipped with a Webasto diesel water heater. This heater packs a punch in the heat and efficiency department, with a two gallon fuel tank lasting multiple trips of hot showers, dishes, and using the waste heat as a tent heater. It’s a great piece of equipment and worked perfectly until I noticed during a post-trip cleanup it had begun leaking glycol. For those of you not familiar with glycol, or maybe you are reading this because your internet search led you here in an attempt to fix your own leaky Webasto, glycol coolant is bright, neon green fluid. So, if that is what you are seeing inside the front cabinet of your trailer this video should help you locate and fix the leak(s). It is an extremely easy problem to solve and can be done in an hour tops.

Watch the above video to see the location of the hoses and fittings you need to inspect, as well as how to remove the panels covering them and what tools you will need.
