The Exotac fireROD XL™ Refill Kit ensures your fireROD XL™ remains ready for action. Crafted from a proprietary ferrocerium alloy—comprising rare earth metals like iron, cerium, and magnesium—this replacement rod produces long-burning molten globules when scraped, effectively igniting tinder in various conditions.
Replacement Instructions
- Remove the worn rod by unscrewing it from the fireROD XL™ handle.
- Install the new rod by screwing it into the holder until snug.
- Secure the rod with a drop of blue or purple Loctite to prevent loosening during use.

Returns
We offer a 30-day return policy, meaning you have 30 days from the date you receive your item to request a return.
Return Eligibility
To qualify for a return, your item must:

How to Start a Return

Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items

Non-Returnable Items & Exceptions

Augason Farms Products – All Sales Final
Due to the nature of long-term food storage, all sales on Augason Farms products are final.
We do not accept returns or exchanges on Augason Farms products for any reason including:

Shipping delays
Replacements will only be issued in the event of:

A verified manufacturing defect, or

Shipping damage, which must be reported within 5 days of delivery with supporting photo documentation

Pre-Orders
As of 02/07/2025, we no longer offer refunds on pre-orders.
Pre-orders placed before this date are eligible for refunds under this policy.

Exchanges
The fastest way to exchange an item is to initiate a return and, once accepted, place a new order for the item you want.
European Union Customers – 14-Day Cooling-Off Period
If your order was shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return it within 14 days of delivery, for any reason.

Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of approval. If approved, we will issue a refund to your original payment method within 10 business days.
