Snakestaff ETQ: Everyday Carry, Everyday Prepared

ESTIMATED RELEASE MID-APRIL. PRE-ORDERS SOLD OUT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Snakestaff Systems ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 – The Next Evolution in Everyday Carry Tourniquets

Introducing the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 by Snakestaff Systems—the groundbreaking upgrade to the most compact and capable everyday carry tourniquet. Engineered with patent-pending innovations and refined through real-world user feedback, this next-generation ETQ sets a new standard in bleeding control.

Designed to exceed previous military and medical standards, the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 isn't just an upgrade—it’s a revolution in emergency preparedness.

What’s New in Gen 2?

Power Curve Technology (Patent Pending) – The innovative curved slot in the tourniquet body evenly distributes pressure across the band, reducing the risk of permanent tissue damage caused by uneven compression. Unlike traditional straight-slot tourniquets, which create excess pressure at the edges, the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 ensures safer, more effective hemorrhage control.

New Tri-Grip Windlass (Patent Pending) – Featuring three flat gripping surfaces per side, the Gen 2 windlass provides enhanced control and mechanical advantage over traditional round rods. Built from a high-strength composite used in aerospace and engine parts, this windlass will never fail under pressure—unlike cheap alternatives prone to breaking.

Windlass Ring for Easier Turns (Patent Pending) – The reinforced steel ring beneath the windlass makes this one of the easiest tourniquets to tighten on the market. Since the first two turns are typically the hardest, this innovation reduces resistance and provides superior mechanical advantage, ensuring rapid, secure application even under stress.

Improved Tourniquet Body & Routing – The longer, optimized design keeps the tourniquet in a straighter configuration, even if the user doesn’t fully tighten the strap first. The only negative feedback from Gen 1 was from user error—this redesign helps mitigate mistakes, but remember: always fully tighten the band before twisting the windlass!

Larger Carabiner Opening – While maintaining the same compact gate size, the internal space of the carabiner has been significantly enlarged for faster, easier windlass stowage—especially after multiple windlass turns.

Reinforced Hook & Loop Band – Now backed with webbing, the Gen 2 band resists folding in half or sticking to itself, allowing for quicker lassoing and smoother threading.

Blue Trainer Versions Available – You asked, and we delivered! Dedicated blue trainers are now available so you can practice application without using a live TQ.

On-Tourniquet Instructions + QR Code TrainingClear, step-by-step instructions are printed directly onto the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 for fast reference. Plus, a scannable QR code takes users to a detailed instructional video—no excuses for not knowing how to apply it!

🚨 Why We Removed the Chemlight – The Gen 1 chemlight was breaking and activating in transit or during everyday carry. Based on user feedback, we removed it to improve durability.

Key Features

🔹 Enhanced Width for Effective Compression – At 1.5 inches wide, the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 provides superior compression compared to standard models, ensuring optimal hemorrhage control with less risk of long-term tissue damage.

🔹 Compact and Concealable Design – Measuring 37.5 inches in length and 35% smaller than traditional tourniquets, it’s perfect for discreet carry in pockets, multi-tool pouches, or pistol magazine holders.

🔹 Non-Absorbent & Weather-Resistant – Made from materials that resist water absorption, this tourniquet is ideal for maritime operations, adverse weather, and extreme environments.

🔹 Versatile Application – Designed for adults, children, and K9 units, capable of securing limbs as small as 1 inch in diameter.

🔹 Mil-Spec Durability – Constructed with Mil-Spec 4088 webbing and UV-rated polymer components, ensuring rugged, long-lasting reliability.

Designed to Meet & Exceed TCCC & DoD Standards

We get asked this a lot: Is it TCCC-recommended? Here’s the truth—the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) has not met to evaluate new tourniquets since 2019. That means no new tourniquet has been officially reviewed in the last five years.

However, the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 was designed to meet and exceed all prior TCCC standards and has gone even further to match Department of Defense working group requirements. This is the next evolution of battlefield and civilian emergency care.

Who Needs the ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2?

First Responders & Military Personnel – Ideal for law enforcement, EMS, and tactical operators who need a tourniquet that won’t fail when it matters most.

Outdoor Enthusiasts & Overlanders – Whether you’re hiking, camping, off-roading, or hunting, this tourniquet is a lifesaving addition to your kit.

Everyday Carry (EDC) Preparedness – Small enough for daily carry, powerful enough for real emergencies.

TRAINING MATTERS! Proper tourniquet use requires training. Take a Stop the Bleed® course and practice with a blue trainer to ensure you can apply it under stress.

Be Ready. Be Safe. Stay Alive.

The ETQ WIDE™ Gen 2 isn’t just an upgrade—it’s a game-changer in hemorrhage control. Built with user feedback and patent-pending technology, it delivers life-saving performance in the most compact and rugged design available.

Get yours today—because when every second counts, you need the best.

This version highlights all the major Gen 2 improvements, reinforces Snakestaff Systems' commitment to innovation, and ensures buyers understand why this is the tourniquet they need. Let me know if you'd like any refinements! 🚀

Commonly Asked Questions

PLEASE READ THIS FIRST BEFORE EMAILING US!

Is the ETQ wide enough?

If you cut open the most widely used TQ by LE and Militaries around the world you’ll find that it’s only a 1” wide piece of inner webbing that’s doing the constricting. The outer 1.5” sleeve does not constrict. Don’t believe us, try tightening one of those on a foam roller next to the ETQ™ for 30 min. You’ll see they leave the same imprint. 1” wide.

1” has been good enough to stop the bleed for years. If you want a wider TQ, take a look out our ETQ Wide™

What kind of testing was performed?

The ETQ™ and ETQ Wide™ have been proven to cut off blood flow using doppler and ultrasound at a level 5 trauma unit. We went through extensive testing of its durability and windlass strength in extreme weather conditions. Watch the Torture Test Here.

Does the ETQ™ and ETQ Wide™ work on children and K9’s?

We kept small diameter limbs in mind during the design process. It can constrict down to 1” diameter, which is significantly smaller than other TQ’s, making it a great option for children and dogs.

Is the ETQ CoTCCC recommended?

Contrary to popular belief, manufacturers cannot submit tourniquets to the Committee of Tactical Combat Casualty Care (CoTCCC) for review whenever they want. Instead, CoTCCC organizes review sessions at their choosing. CoTCCC has only done two TQ reviews in the last 20 years, the most recent of which was in 2019.

Therefore, the ETQ and ETQ Wide have not yet been reviewed by the CoTCCC.

We’ve been in regular contact with CoTCCC members however, there is no indication that another TQ review is happening any time soon. In fact, there are indications that CoTCCC will no longer be doing TQ reviews at all.

In lieu of this we’re currently working with several universities to conduct independent, published, clinical trials on our ETQs however none of them have concluded at the moment.

We’ve also done numerous color doppler ultrasound tests, some of which are posted on the “Videos” tab on our website.

We will continue to pursue independent, third-party testing and publish the data as it becomes available, so customers can make their own informed decisions.

Will you offer different colors?

Not at this time but in the future we will have other color options to be used for trainers.

Warranty:

While tourniquets are inherently a one-time use item we stand behind our product. ETQ’s come with a lifetime warranty covering any manufacturing defects. This does not include repeated use as a trainer. Contact us for warranty and returns.

ETQ™ Emergency Instructions

ETQ Ultrasound Test

In this example, the ETQ™ stops blood flow after two turns, however you should twist the windlass as many times as possible in a real situation.

Introducing the Everyday Carry Tourniuqet. ETQ™

The patent pending ETQ™ is compact, yet effective, making it easy to have on hand. Think of our ETQ™ as the SIG 365® of TQ’s: Both are small and designed for carry and concealment.
